Hendrix Industrial Gastrux, Inc. has been in business since 1953, when Cleve Hendrix, a pioneer in the propane and natural gas conversions field, first opened his doors. Since then, we have been designing and manufacturing propane and natural gas conversion kits, with each system being engineered to a specific engine. For automobiles, our systems are specific to the make, model, and engine.
Todd Hendrix, Cleve’s son and current owner of Hendrix Industrial Gastrux Inc., worked at Hendrix while growing up and has since worked in every capacity of the company. In 1978, Todd attended Southern Illinois University where he obtained a degree in Aviation Technology and an Air frame Power Plant mechanics license. In 1984, after 2 years of working as a helicopter mechanic, Todd returned to his roots and took over the family business.
“I have seen many changes in the industry since I’ve been involved, but as the saying goes, ‘The more things change, the more they stay the same.’”
Hendrix is no exception to this. We started out doing propane conversions on forklifts, generators, small engines, and vehicles back in the early 50’s and continue to do so today. Our customer base continues to grow due to the increasing demand of EPA regulations, recognition of environmental concerns, propane and natural gas’s ability to reduce greenhouse gases relative to gasoline, and, of course, a low-cost alternative to rising gasoline prices.
Here at Hendrix Industrial Gastrux, Inc., we supply conversion systems to customers all over the US, as well as Canada, Mexico, Japan, and Australia, to name just a few.
At Hendrix, we pride ourselves on our service and commitment to our customers, as well as our expert staff with a combined 70+ years of knowledge and experience.
